Wissenswertes zu Curls & Perm
Curls and perms require their own products – both for caring for natural waves and for reshaping in the salon. For care, there is the Rose Curly Dream series from Black Professional Line with organic baobab oil, available as a shampoo, mask, and 150 ml styling cream, as well as the KYO Curly System Shampoo in 500 or 1000 ml. For hold during styling, the Ultra Strong mousse provides 400 ml of product, designed for curly, frizz-prone hair. For reshaping, you will find the ammonia-free waving agents Light Wave and Strong in 500 ml bottles, the Black Professional Line Neutralizer in 1000 ml, and rollers with elastic bands in seven diameters from 6 to 16 mm. You can find smoothing care to combat frizz under Anti-Frizz.
Light Wave or Strong – which perm is right for me?
Both are ammonia-free and contain no thioglycolic acid. Light Wave is intended for a gentle reshape with soft, natural waves and, according to the manufacturer, is also suitable for colored hair. Strong is designed for defined curls with more hold and elasticity, even for more intensive reshaping. When in doubt, a test strand beforehand will help.
Why do I need a neutralizer?
The reshaping process takes place in two steps: first, the waving agent reshapes the coiled hair, then the neutralizer fixes the new shape. The Black Professional Line neutralizer contains hydrogen peroxide and, according to the manufacturer, is intended to stabilize the waves and strengthen the hair bonds. Follow the sequence, processing times, and rinsing steps exactly according to the instructions.
How do I care for curls after a perm?
After reshaping, hair needs mild care that does not weigh it down. According to the manufacturer, the Rose Curly Dream Shampoo with organic baobab oil defines and gently cleanses waves and curls, while the mask from the same series conditions the lengths. Alternatively, there is the KYO Curly System Shampoo. For your first wash after the perm, follow the advice of your hairdresser or the instructions provided.
