Wissenswertes zu Keratin & Protein

Care with keratin and proteins is intended for hair whose structure has been weakened by coloring, heat, or environmental factors. The approximately 30 products range from shampoos and masks from the brands Black Professional Line, Evelon Pro (PSN Essense Repair), and Wella (SP Repair, SP LuxeOil) to a leave-in lotion, spray treatments, and ampoules (12 × 10 ml). The two Plex hair treatments from Dr.Kalla in 1-liter containers also incorporate collagen. You can find further restorative care under Repair and concentrated treatments under Ampoules & Treatment.

Which Plex hair treatment is intended for which type of hair?

The Dr.Kalla Plex protein hair treatment is available in two 1000 ml versions: for colored hair and for natural hair. Both combine collagen, keratin, and milk protein and are, according to the manufacturer, intended for a filler and smoothing effect that fills in damaged areas and tames frizz. The deciding factor for your choice is therefore whether your hair is colored.

Can hair get too much protein?

Yes, that is possible: If hair receives plenty of strengthening treatment but little moisture, it can feel stiff or straw-like. Intensive treatments such as strengthening masks or ampoules are therefore intended for targeted use. Alternate them with moisturizing care and follow the instructions on the packaging regarding frequency and processing time.

Leave-in lotion or ampoule – what is the difference?

Both remain in the hair and are not rinsed out. The keratin protein leave-in lotion from Black Professional Line (200 ml) is intended by the manufacturer as a supplement to the keratin routine for damaged and weakened hair. The Keratin Protein Booster hair ampoules (12 × 10 ml) are an intensive leave-in treatment in single doses for heavily damaged, stressed, and lifeless hair.
